John Platt joined Manitou in 2016 and serves as an Investment Counsellor and a member of the Portfolio Management team on the Manitou Total Return Yield Fund. Additionally, John plays a key role of liaising and coordinating Manitou’s Investment Management functions with those the client service and marketing functions. Prior to joining Manitou he was a principal at HighView Financial Group for eight years and prior to that John held a senior management position in BMO Nesbitt Burns’ Private Client Group. John is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University and holds the Chartered Investment Management (CIM) designation. John has been active in his community serving as a Board member and Trustee of the Oakville Hospital Foundation, the Oakville Community Foundation, Appleby College and Lighthouse For Grieving Children. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education.
