We work closely with private clients and families to construct an Investment Policy Statement which identifies their overall objectives and investment strategies required to meet them. This often involves collaborating with clients and their advisors to ensure that investment strategies are implemented in a tax effective manner.

Foundations

Whether we manage an entire portfolio or a portion thereof, we are adept at assisting foundations in establishing investment strategies that enable them to make the necessary cash flow disbursements while also preserving and growing their capital over time.

Institutions

Institutions tend to follow one of two approaches to investing: ‘core and explore’ or ‘best of breed’. Typically, in the case of “core and explore”, indexing forms a central part of the strategy and is supplemented with alpha generating active managers. In the case of ‘best of breed’, plan sponsors will allocate capital to specialized manager mandates. Manitou is well suited to serving either of these strategies.
